Grand Opening of Estate Sale Antiques!

We just opened a booth and the new antique shop in town: The Estate Sale in Ogden.

The store had it's grand opening over the weekend and Ken Sanders from Antiques Roadshow was on hand to appraise books. This large San Francisco book appraised for $1,000!

Here are a few pics from our booth.

The green Arts & Crafts period chaise lounge to the last sold right away.

The grand opening was a big success!

Check out the store at 4590 Harrison Blvd. Ogden Utah.
There's a little something for everyone.

Featured in Etsy Spring Treasury

Yipee...my Spring Blossom Pyrex Bowls are featured in the great Spring treasury!

Saved from Scrap

1960's Zenith stereo console

We made a trip to the thrift store last week and picked up a nice vintage office chair. We were asked to pick it up in the back loading area and when we did, we saw this beautiful stereo console ready and waiting to get dumped. My husband asked them if we could have it. Well, with the thrift store they do not just give anything away (even if they were just about to throw it away!) but they let us buy it for "parts". The turntable needs a little loving care, but the radio still works and it sounds great. We were very please with ourselves!

We found a few other finds while out and about:

This cute little "Hippie Chick" bird planter...perfect for Easter

I really like the muted green color of this Spring Blossom Pyrex bowl set

I love the Mid Century graphic on this West Bend bean pot

I couldn't help noticing the common denominator of all these wonderful vintage beauties...they are all made in the USA. Imagine that...we were once a country that actually made things - quality things! No made in China here. Wouldn't it be nice if we could get back to that philosophy?

Iron You Board of Chalk Paint Yet?

I purchased a lot of old ironing boards at an auction last month for cheap. (With my husband saying, "What in the...?")  I thought one of them would be the perfect canvas for a little chalkboard paint.

Perfect for the porch, laundry room or mud room, don't you think?!

Lucky Green and Thinking of Spring

This white wicker table came from a yard sale last summer. It was dull and needed a little makeover.

So it got a nice, fresh coat of paint. A nice spring green for March!

A Great Time at the Acorn Antiques Show

We had a great time at the Acorn Antique's show in Ogden last weekend. The Mid-Century furniture was quite popular!

As were the vintage mailboxes...only one left (the top one with the pointed flap). Only $15.00!

Although there were many who commented that they loved the red mirror and table set...it didn't find a home over the weekend and is still available for just $95.00 for the set! If interested, drop us an email at uniqueantiqueandart at gmail dot com.

We will be at the next antique show in May at the Weber County Fair Grounds in Ogden, UT. We look forward to seeing you there.
